A freelance invoice you can finish before the next job starts

This template covers the bits that tend to slow freelancers down: billable work, dates, payment terms and a PDF that looks deliberate rather than patched together.

Describe the work so the client recognises it

Use the project name or deliverable from your agreement. “Design work” invites a question; “Brand identity design, final files” usually doesn’t.

Set a due date you can enforce

A calendar date is harder to misread than a vague note. Keep the agreed payment window in the payment terms as well.

Lines included in this starting point

  • Brand identity design
  • Frontend development
  • Monthly consulting retainer

Replace the examples with the work and prices agreed for the actual job.
